- I've been able to user serial cables of ridiculous lenths (certainly 30m)
- working with PCs in our lab with no problems, and that was with various
- gender changers, crossover boxes and the like. I was told by a technician
- that the RS-232 spec allows for a wire length of up to 100 feet, but in
- practice one can make them much longer.
